Kickstand Comedy is a nonprofit theater that strives to provide programming and educational outreach that helps people laugh, connect, and thrive together.

The Velodrome

Secret Aardvark

Spicy-hot comedy from over 30 of Portland’s best improvisers. Hosted weekly by a TOTALLY SECRET guest host! Past guests have included David Lynch, Notable Ghosts, High School Theater Students, Tinder Dracula, Waluigi, and many more... Who's tonight's guest? Well... that's the secret!! Shhhhhh... Secret Aardvark is a late-night cult comedy institution - a who's who of PDX comedy with guaranteed laughs hosted by a secret guest so hot and spicy we named ourselves after our favorite local hot sauce... SECRET AARDVARK!!
Big Dogs

Every Saturday, Kickstand unleashes two improv teams at the top of their game to run wild on the stage for a night of comedy that'll have you howling "Awooooooo" or "Woof Woof" if u nasty! Either way it's a night of guaranteed laughs. BIG DOGS features an exclusive roster of Kickstand's in-house improv teams (we're talking the pick of the litter every week).
Kickstand Improv Jam

Kickstand invites all PDX improv students and performers to our in-person improv jam! Hosted by a rotating crew of Kickstand teams. An inclusive, supportive and fun place to stretch those scene work muscles and get in some sweet sweet improv reps!! Improv jams are a great way to skill build and meet some new folks.
Harold Night

Harold Night is a comedy love-letter to THE HAROLD, the quintessential improv comedy form developed and honed at theaters like iO, UCB, and Second City. Google it if you must… but all you really need to know is that it's gonna be a night ofcomedy from some of our favorite up and coming teams!!
Sketch Coven
Venue: Kickstand Comedy | 1006 SE Hawthorne Blvd
Frequency: Monthly on 4th Sundays (mostly) from 1:30-4:30 pm

Sketch Coven is a monthly meetup for sketch writers and actors. Facilitated by Michael Zimmer and Paul Stein. Writers of all skill levels are invited to bring in pitches, first drafts, and revised work to be read out loud and workshopped by fellow writers and actors. $10 suggested donation. The Variety Society

The Variety Society is an eclectic comedy variety show featuring some of the best local PDX talent. Performers are given a single theme and the freedom to create whatever their hearts' desire. The results: hilarious music, improv, sketch, and stand up comedy!

Join Writer’s Strike & Friends for their monthly improv comedy show at The 4th Wall where they create a 22-minute improvised sitcom episode solely built from their wit, skill and the audience suggestions. Nothing planned! From co-workers to lovers, each show leaves you wanting the next episode! Each month they will be joined by different local comedians showing off their hilarious talent. From sketches to stand-up!

Funhouse Lounge

The Funhouse Lounge is an arts-centric lounge in the Central Eastside of Portland located at the corner of SE 11th and Division. A modern cabaret of sorts, a place to enjoy a drink and some good eats while being entertained. Voted one of “Portland’s Weirdest Bars” by The Oregonian. We have a truly unique blend of entertainment including dance nights, stand up comedy, burlesque, improv, karaoke, storytelling, bingo, plays, and so much more. The Siren Theater

The Siren Theater is a 90 seat performing arts theater that specializes in comedy. The Siren opened on Mississippi Avenue in March 2023 and is the home of smart and fresh sketch comedy, improv comedy, stand up, variety shows, and staged parodies of movies so bad that they are good.
